Pongal is the harvest festival in India. It is celebrated in different ways all over the country. In the South of India it is known as Pongal and is celebrated for four days. At Ekadaksha Learning Center Pongal was celebrated in a unique but simple way.
After explaining and showing pictures to the children, they were also given the opportunity to enact each day of Pongal - bhogi pongal, surya (sun) pongal, maatu (cow) pongal, kaanum pongal. While the teachers narrated, the children were given props. The photos show the children's involvement and their joy in participation.
