On the day of Ganesh Chathurthi celebration, all the children were greeted with special Ganesha songs as they stepped into the Center. We did a pooja and Aarti to "Jai Ganesh, Jai Ganesh, Jai Ganesh Deva". This inculcates the message to the children on how to worship during special occasions. After the worship, the teachers of ELC used instruments and sang Bhajans of Lord Ganesha. This created a soothing feeling among the children. Then the children enjoyed Ganesha's favorite snacks (Sundal and Kesari).
It was then time for fun!!! We conducted a different game for the children called - "The Mango Game". The basic rule for this game was to group the children into two teams and one child from each team should compete for each round. The children had to run for a short distance to pick the mango which is lying little far. The child who picked the mango first, gets the Mango Badge. The children enjoyed running and picking the mango. This kindled the children to be more focused to achieve the target of picking the mango. Finally, the Mango Badges won by each team was counted. The team who had more number of Mango Badges was announced to be the winning team. Then, all of us listened to Ganesha songs.
In this modern world, we could certainly visualise all this joy in celebration through photographs. Capturing these moments is a treasure for ELC, the children and their parents. Visualise the birthday celebrations of Lord Ganesha here.
