Ekadaksha organised a Tennis camp this year for 5 days, in order to encourage children with special needs to learn a sport. Tennis, apart from being an interesting game, helps in developing strength, movement, focus and eye hand coordination. It also enables children to learn and follow rules while socialising with peers. In the camp, the children began with a warm up jog which was followed by various drills of the game. They learnt to play a forehand, backhand after which they were encouraged to run towards the ball to hit it. After learning these basics, the children tried rallying with the marker . They were also introduced to the first steps of serving the ball. It is said that 'Practice makes perfect'. Indeed, in 5 continuous days, the children were able to connect with the ball and it got better by the fifth day. Thankyou Mr. Hiten Joshi (Chief coach) and Mr. Muruga for all the efforts to teach and encourage the children.
We hope and wish that all children as well as parents get into a sport of their choice and liking. Sports will definitely prove to be a wholesome development of the child. So, take the chance as soon as you can - Make Sports a way of life, and life will be the best it can.
