International Yoga day celebrations 2022 at Ekadaksha, ChennaiInternational Yoga day is celebrated on 21st June every year. Yoga and its healing powers help to maintain our own mental and physical fitness. It can be very effective in developing coping skills and reaching a more positive outlook on life. It is a great way to get in tune with our body and our inner self. It is a wonderful way to accept oneself as one is. 

YOGA IS THE JOURNEY OF THE SELF, TO THE SELF, THROUGH THE SELF.

Ekadaksha celebrated this day by doing simple asanas with the children. The children followed the asanas either independently or with some help. The session began with the chanting of a prayer followed by warm up exercises like lifting a single hand up and down, lifting both hands up and down, ending withshaking both hands nicely. The children were then called batch wise to do standing asanas like Tadasana (Palm tree posture), Uttanasana (Forward bend) and Ardha uttanasana (Half forward bend). Then all of us sat down to perform the simple Sukhasana with forward bend. The session ended with sitting in silence and the OM chant.
