Navaratri is a vibrant, joyful traditional Indian festival celebrated to honour Goddess Durga and her nine forms.Navaratri is celebrated in a diverse manner all over the world. Its a festival both spiritual and social, homes and temples become welcoming spaces where people come together to sing, dance, and pray.At Ekadaksha,Navaratri was celebrated in a spiritual and social manner with prayers, puja and everyone coming together to perform the group dance with great joy and positive spirit.

The essence of Navratri lies in the worship of Shakti, the universal energy that embodies strength, power, wisdom, and compassion.Kanya pujan, honouring young girls is a common practice during Navaratri which serves as a means to honour and recognize the feminine strength(Shakthi).

The celebration at Ekadaksha began with honouring the feminine strength, honouring the young girls of our center. They were given a warm welcome with garlanding them and spraying the rose water on them. One child from each class gave them sweet and flowers which made them feel happy.Music and dandiya dance performance by the teachers, performed especially for the young girls to enjoy was an added highlight of the day.

After honouring the young girls of our center, puja and prayers commenced. All the class teachers and children brought the things they use daily – stationary, notebooks, calculator, household things, paint, planner book, pendrive etc..arranged them in tray and kept it on the puja table. They sang the Om prayer and offered flowers for the Goddess seeking her blessings.

Then came the most favorite part of the celebration – Garba and Dandiya dance. All the children and teachers formed a big cirle and performed an energetic Garba dance. Then they formed small cirles classwise and enjoyed the dandiya dance. Colourful attire, energetic dances like Garba and Dandiya and melodious songs filling the air, created an atmosphere of joy and friendship.
