Pongal is a famous harvest festival of Tamilnadu, celebrated elaborately for 4 days in the month of January. It marks the beginning of the harvest season and shows gratitude to the sun god, farmers and mother nature for providing us the daily food.

The celebration began with Ms.Komathi explaining briefly about the importance of pongal festival. The previous day to pongal - Bhogi pongal denotes discarding of old things and making room for new things in life.It also emphasizes discarding unwanted things from our own self - which was explained by enacting a short skit performed by Ms.Madhumitha and Ms.Maari.They threw away unwanted emotions - Anger and Cry, and explained how unwanted crying and anger could disturb the peace of mind in our lives.

After the skit and after discarding the unwanted things,It was then time to take group pictures with the pongal scene as background.Ms.Sagaya Mary coordinated with each class to take the group pictures. Then, children of Ekadaksha welcomed the new things, celebrated the beginning of "Thai pongal" by performing a wonderful dance for the folk song "Thi thimi thimi dhaa"
