Children's Day is celebrated every year on 14th of November,it is a celebration dedicated to honour and promote the well being of children and cherish childhood.
Children's Day 2024 was celebrated at Ekadaksha with so much joy and fun.The children came dressed up bright colours.
"Queenie" - A puppet character well known to children of Ekadaksha,visited them to celebrate children's day along with them. Queenie entered with great enthusiasm and greeted the children.The children shook hands with queenie to welcome her.Some of them told their names to queenie using the Avaz app,while some of them wanted to touch and hug queenie.Queenie also entertained the children by doing the actions which the children enjoyed.One child wanted to keep tickling queenie, another kept pulling her while one of them repeated whatever she said. It was great fun interacting with her.
The next part of the celebrations was a game "Oranges and Lemon", modified by using a dupatta to catch the children.The song was sung one time in English and the next time in tamil - "Oru kudam thanni oothi oru poo poothuchaam". When the song was over, which ever child was caught inside the dupatta was out.
After enjoying the fun game,all the children and teachers danced happily to their favorite kollywood and bollywood tunes.
This year,the theme for world children's day is "For every child,every right".It aims to ensure that all children get all the rights that they deserve and will help them grow into responsible adults.Lets cherish and support every child,respect them for what they are and support them grow into responsible,happy adults.
