India celebrated its 80th Independence day on 15th August 2026.This day celebrates the bravery and sacrifices of many freedom fighters who bravely fought for the freedom of our country.It is a day to show our respect and gratitude and honour the people who struggled for the freedom of our country.Celebrations takes place across the nation and people celebrate by performing various patriotic programs.
At Ekadaksha,Independence day was celebrated by the children and teachers showing their patriotism and love for their country "India".The celebrations commenced with the March past followed by flag hoisting. Carrying the placards and our tricolor flags,children marched with pride showing their patriotism for the country.The tricolor national flag was hoisted by Mr.Shyam sundar,well wisher of Ekadaksha.Everyone saluted the flag and sung the national anthem showing their respect for the country.Deva, one of our children sang the national anthem using the "Avaz app".National anthem is sung every day after the prayer and this year,they learnt to sing the national anthem using the "Avaz app" . The National anthem was then sung altogether.
Ms.Sagaya Mary,Assistant at ELC then coordinated the rest of the celebration.Patriotic songs were played and children were involved in doing colorful art,decorating our Tricolor National flag,our India map and our National flower Lotus.
Express children decorated the flag using colored rice and by using sponge stencils.Children of Experience group and mini vocational program decorated the India map and our National flower Lotus using color papers.They happily saluted the flag,took solo and group pictures with their art works.Everyone then listened to patriotic songs.
Independence day celebration every year makes us think about what freedom means and what we can do with it.To respect our national flag,national symbols,our tricolor and pay sincere respect while singing our national anthem is the most meaningful way to demonstrate our patriotism.

Patriotism also means to respect fellow citizens and be responsible for making our country a safe and peaceful place to live.Patriotism becomes meaningful if it moves beyond words.Lets make it as our duty and responsibility to respect our country and its values and make our country India proud.
