Ekadaksha had a Sports fun activities event as part of the sports series on 28th of November 2025 at Wesley Turf and Fitness club,Royapettah,Chennai.
The sports activities were kept simple and the main focus was to give opportunity for our children to interact with outsiders.Few well wishers of Ekadaksha,Mr.Gautham Gopal,Mr.Kailash,Mr.Vignesh and Ms.Tanuja joined us to be part of the fun event.
The guests were alloted to one house each-Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and they remained in that alloted house group for all activities of the day. Mr.Gautham was part of Red house,Mr.Kailash in blue house,Mr.Vignesh in Green house and Ms.Tanuja was part of the Yellow house.
For the children to get a feel of ease,first the house group teachers introduced the guest to the children. There were general interactions with the person either verbally or through the Avaz app. Interactions included hand shake, telling their names etc. After the introduction, the children played ball throw and catch in their respective houses. This was followed by 2 relay races.
1. Bucket relay race:where the first child had to carry the empty bucket,run along the track,pick up a bean bag from the tray kept at the other end,put the bean bag inside the bucket,come back running in their track and give the bucket to the next child. This was done till all the bean bags were over. The house which finished picking up all the bean bags first were the winners.Red house were the winners in the bucket relay race.
2. Instrument Relay race:Each house were given 4 different instruments which were kept in a tray at the start point.Once the whistle was blown,the child had to take an instrument of his/her choice,play the instrument simultaneously while walking in the track and drop the instrument inside the tray kept at the other end.After the first child sits at the other end,the second child has to get up,pick up another instrument of his/her choice,play the instrument and walk in the track to reach the end.Whichever house completed transfering all the four instruments first were declared the winner.Green house were the winners in the Instrument Relay race.
The groups posed for a group picture at the end of the races.It was so much fun playing the games.All the children played independently. They enjoyed interacting and playing along with the new person in their group. It was wonderful to see the children being with people other than their teachers.
The sports event was a day of fun and learning by giving the children and teachers the exposure to a new environment and new people. The children were given the opportunity to introduce themselves, and listen to new people too. The guests had a great time interacting with our children and they were also able to understand how to interact with the children as well as know how much our children are capable of doing.
