Learning difficulties
Every child has trouble with learning. However, if a child finds a certain area of learning difficult consistently, it might be an indicator of "learning difficulty". This difficulty is not a problem of intelligence or laziness. In fact, these children have an average or above average intelligence.
A "learning difficulty" refers to a condition in which a child finds it difficult to learn in a typical manner. They have trouble in performing specific types of skills or completing tasks if they are taught in the conventional ways. The ability to receive, store, process, retrieve and/or use information is different from other people. There is a discrepancy between the child's actual ability and his/her performance level.
The most common types of learning difficulties involve reading, writing, math, reasoning, listening and speaking.
