What we do - Ekadaksha Learning Center Chennai - By Stephen Eastop

India celebrates September 5th as Teachers day to commemorate the birthday of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s first Vice President, Former President and Bharat Ratna Awardee. He requested to celebrate his birthday as “Teachers day” to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of teachers to the society. Educational institutions engage in activities to honor their teachers and express their appreciation for them.

Teachers are the heart of the educational system. ”Teaching is not a job,it’s a lifestyle .It permeates your whole life”. How true is the saying. When it comes to Special Educators, they not only play the teacher role but many other roles as well. They don’t consider teaching as a job, but as a part of their life carrying their children in their hearts.

At Ekadaksha Learning center it was a “Teacher’s day out” to celebrate themselves,to celebrate being a teacher as well as bring out the child in themselves. The whole team assembled at Funcity,Express Avenue mall at 11 am. It was a fun packed day with smiles, laughter, excitement and playing different games together – basket ball, racing bikes and cars, shooting games and a lot more. Of course, there was great enjoyment in posing for many many pictures too. After this, they enjoyed a feast of lunch, popsickle icecreams and juices. At the end of the day, they took home few small gifts as a token of memory of the gala celebration.

“Some see the disabilities but special education teachers see the possibilities”. The wonderful team who strives hard and tries every possibility to teach their children the way they learn, had a memorable Teachers day celebration 2023,which gave them wonderful moments for life,to cherish forever.
