Music is a universal language serving as a medium of expression of human emotions.It offers therapeutic benefits,reducing stress and enhancing mental well-being.It kindles creativity,soothes one's mind and soul and brings people together,becoming a part of every day life.
At Ekadaksha,Music is a part of our curriculum.Children are welcomed every day in the morning with soothing music.Children are given exposure to different kinds of music - instrumental,bhajans,rhymes,folk,peppy songs and also cini songs.All our children enjoy music and hence a "Paatu katcheri - a music concert" was organised,planned and executed by Ms.Komathi,Special educator,ELC.
A whole katcheri kind of set up was done.Stage was set up with bright and colorful "Jamakalam" spread,and the participants were welcomed by offering garland.Children came in group with their class peers and class teachers and gave a group performance.
Express A children chose the "Jal jal" instrument and gave a medley kind of performance with a fusion of 2-3 songs where the children sang along with the teacher simultaneously playing the instrument too.
Express B children chose the wooden tik tik instrument and they sang along a cini song and a rhyme with their teachers.
Experience 4A children chose a modified instrument - tumbler and a spoon to make rhythm for the devotional song and a rhyme sung by their teachers.
Experience 4B children chose a plastic bowl and scale to produce beats in rhythm for a bhajan song and rhyme sung by the teachers.
Akka's and Teachers too gave a solo performance at the end.
Children and teachers enjoyed the paatu katcheri and had a good time.The stage with the colorful Jamakaalam's,musical instruments,performers having colorful garlands,the peppy energy and cheers really gave a live music concert feel for everyone present.
