The "Balloon Experiment" activity was conducted by Ms.Priya,Assistant Teacher,ELC.
The experiement works on the principle of an acid-base chemical reaction that produces carbon-di-oxide gas which inflates the balloon.
The teacher explained the experiment and gave a demo.
Balloon was taken and little vinegar was added inside. Then a pinch of baking soda was added inside and a knot tied in the balloon. The vinegar(acid) reacts with baking soda (base) and releases carbon-di-oxide gas which fills the balloon and the balloon gets inflated as one taps on the balloon.
All the children did the experiment one by one, independently. They really enjoyed seeing their balloons getting inflated.
