The story "Monkey and the cap seller" was planned and executed by Ms.Komathi,Special educator,ELC.
The story was little modified and all the children were given roles to enact in the story.Deva and Ashok pandi played the cap seller role,Safa,Aravind,Sai priyadhan,Sanjeev played the monkey role and other children were the audience who gave idea for the cap seller to get back his caps.
The teacher narrated the story and the children performed accordingly.
The first cap seller came selling his caps,turned tired and he slept under a tree.Then came the second cap seller selling his caps and he slept under the tree.The monkeys playing around the tree saw the caps and took them away.When the cap sellers woke up and saw the empty basket,they felt sad looking around for their caps.They saw the monkeys wearing the caps.They go to the monkeys and ask for the cap.Monkeys ask the cap seller to do some action.In spite of doing the actions - jumping,shaking hips,rolling hands,clapping hands, the monkeys didn't return the cap.It was then the cap seller approached the audience and the audience shouted out an idea for him to get back the caps.The audience shouted "Throw the cap,Throw the cap". The cap seller threw his cap and on seeing this,the monkeys too threw the caps on the floor.The cap seller picked up his caps and walked happily.
The dialogues to be conveyed were stored in Avaz app and the children used avaz app to convey their dialogues.Few children who are verbal conveyed the dialogue by saying it.
All the children did their role in an excellent manner totally involving themselves in enacting the story.Giving them the exposure,giving them the right opportunities and teaching them to use technology for communication made it easy for the children to perform.All children have talents and they are capable of doing things provided we give them the exposure,enable them to use technology and give them the opportunities to express their talents.
The story time was wonderful with bright props in the background and with the children performing their roles with joy and involvement.
