"Magic art" activity was planned and conducted by Ms.Priya,Assistant Teacher,ELC.

The simple activity was done using wooden puzzle blocks,charts and kolam powder.The children were given the choice to choose the design/shape they want - example - fruits,vehicles,shapes etc..Wooden puzzle pieces were used as moulds.Black chart was stuck on the floor and the child kept the mould (design) they chose on the chart.Using a sieve they then sprayed the white "kolam powder" over the chart.After spraying the kolam powder,they removed the mould and the design appeared beautifully on the black chart.

They did designs of different shapes,fruits,vehicles and enjoyed seeing their designs popping up on the chart.The activity was simple,but the children learnt many things simultaenously.The touch and feel of the kolam powder also served as a sensory play.They learnt to spray it within the boundary,listen to instructions and keep things in order.
