"Photography with props" was conducted by our Assistant Teacher Ms.Priya.

Four themes were chosen and one theme was given to each class.Props were displayed according to the theme and children chose the props they liked.After choosing the props,the children and teachers of that class posed together for a group photograph. The themes given were forest, sports, village and western. 

For the forest theme, the children chose puppets of the animals they liked and posed for the group picture.

For the sports theme, the children chose from balls,tennis bat,hockey bats and posed for the picture.

For the village theme, the props displayed were traditional baskets,"thooku vali" - the vessel used in villages to carry lunch,towels etc.Children chose a prop and posed for the picture.

For the western theme children chose from caps and cooling glasses,wore them and posed for the picture.

A simple activity gave the opportunity to the children to make choices.Many children wore the props independently while some children needed help to wear the props.Music was played according to the theme chosen for each class. Children enjoyed the music as well.

Thus,the Photography activity was a good exposure for the children to learn and make choices of their own.
