What we do - Ekadaksha Learning Center Chennai - By Stephen Eastop

"The Thirsty Crow" story was narrated and enacted by our Ms.Sumangali, Special educator at ELC.

She began with a song and then enacted the story involving the children. The teacher who played the role of the crow, flew around singing a song and enjoying. After singing for a while it felt thirsty and wanted water. It searched for water everywhere and finally found a glass of water. However, the water level was too little and it could not reach to it.  So, what did the crow do? It communicated that it felt thirsty and sought the help of the children to put pebbles into the jar to raise the water level. Each child came forward to help. As the level of water raised, the crow drank water. It thanked the children for their help.

Using Avaz, the teacher explained to the children to communicate and ask for water if they feel "Thirsty".

The children enjoyed listening and being part of the story. They also learnt to express and communicate whenever they feel "Thirsty".
