Ms.Ganga, Volunteer at ELC, conducted the magnet experiment wherein children could see how magnets attract certain materials. The experiment was conducted in the form of a game - "Nuts hunt with magnet"
The introduction was given through a story. Puppet Queenie told the children that she has lost her treasure. She sought the help of the children to find the treasure.
The treasure(metal nuts and bolts) were kept hidden in bowls of rice and sand. The children were given a magic "Magnet" to find the hidden treasure. After a demo was given, the children sat in groups and searched for the hidden nuts and bolts using the magnet.They then gave back queenie the lost treasure.
Thus,through this experiment, the children learnt the science behind the bonding of magnets with metals.
